About Me

I’m an herb-loving, hustle-culture recovering, anti-capitalist, endlessly curious writer, facilitator, and human being (though I often wish I were a squirrel. More on that at another time). I use she/her pronouns.

I’m the founder of IMBY, a virtual community center for people who give a shit about co-creating a more just and equitable future.

I’m also a freelance writer, strategist, and facilitator for businesses focused on creating good and doing less harm. My training as an herbalist allows me to weave in my deep desire to help people connect to their internal and external environment, living in synergy with the plants around us. This all merges together to help inform the way I work with individuals and entrepreneurs, and consult with businesses in a mindful, harm-reduced, care-forward way.

I am happiest when making herbal medicine, tending to my never-very-happy garden, eating chocolate, fighting capitalist-patriarchial BS, making an epic cheese board, and baking sourdough, amongst other things.

My Work

I talk, write, and think a lot about moving towards systems of liberation (though I am by no means an anti-racist educator), community care, and connection. I reject capitalist notions of competition over collaboration, hoarding wealth and resources, and productivity-at-all-costs culture. Instead, I strive to be and create systems of care, collaboration, rest, and redistribution.

I’ve been living, breathing, and teaching design thinking, which uses empathy at its core to design offerings that matter, for the better part of a decade. Over the past few years, I’ve been learning about and integrating equity-centered design into my practice. This trickles down into my strategy sessions with entrepreneurs, as well as consulting to impact-forward businesses.

I write about sustainable living, wellness, business, and intentionalism as a contributor to mindbodygreen, Forbes, chowhound, USA Today, The Fullest, and Cherry Bombe, amongst others.

Let’s work together

  • Design Thinking Facilitation

One of my favorite things to do is to facilitate workshops and watch the magic unfold as participants learn how to integrate the design thinking methodology into their work. I’ve been practicing and teaching design thinking for a decade, and over the past couple of years, I have been studying and weaving equity-centered design into my practice.

  • Impact and Strategy Consulting

I love supporting impact-driven businesses, nonprofits, and community projects to deepen their social responsibility, lighten their environmental footprint, and integrate humanity into their work. I use an equity-centered design thinking approach to evaluating your businesses’ current challenges, areas of stuckness, and/or opportunities, and flesh out a project plan customized to each client and their needs.

  • Strategy Sessions

Whether you are starting a new business or initiative in your business, are an “accidental entrepreneur” that needs to refine their strategy, or are stuck and in need of strategic direction, these virtual sessions may be just what you need to get going.
